Here’s a testimonal from John Hyde who has attended along with his brother Tom the last 2 years!!

To me, the word “seminar” used to mean sitting in a boring class while some so-called expert nattered on about one subject or another. That all changed when I attended the Summer Salmon Seminar orchestrated by George O’Brien and Mike Hufcut. The program that these gentlemen put together is truly top shelf.
I have fished with guides many times and sometimes I think they hold back valuable information simply to insure future bookings. These guys are just the opposite. They share everything! From selecting equipment right down to the proper technique of netting a fish and anything in between is fully covered. The amount of knowledge that they possess is remarkable and the ease and willingness that they have in sharing it makes me wish I had paid better attention (or at least taken notes). No detail is too small and no question goes unanswered. When it comes to fishing knowledge you are not going to stump these guys. If you are just learning to fish, don’t be afraid to attend, when the Seminar is over, you will have the skill and confidence needed to land a salmon. If you are an expert, when the weekend is done, your skills will have improved.
There is no better classroom for an event like this than the Douglaston Salmon Run. All land based instruction takes place on the banks of the Salmon River and, before you know it, you are standing in the water chasing fish. George and Mike are right there with you, continuing to encourage and instruct.
George, Mike and the Douglaston Salmon Run have partnered together to create a program that is not only informative, but also, an outstanding value. The Seminar is limited to six people so you will not be lost in the crowd, both guides provide all the individual attention you may require, you get to stay in one of the DSR’s fine lodges and you get a great dinner. (These guys also know how to grill a steak!) If you whine a little they also may throw in coffee and danish in the morning. There is no better more reasonably priced way to spend a fishing weekend. I highly recommend it.
